Catechism Day Celebrated

It was a day of excitement for the children of the parish when they celebrated the Catechism Day on 27th February 2010. Meaningful Holy Eucharist was offered by the children at 4 o’clock. It was presided over by Rev. Fr Cyprian D’Souza, Superior, Capuchine Friary, Bejai.
After the mass there was cultural programme in the hall. Rev. Fr Cyprian was the chief guest. Parish priest Rev. Fr J. P. Tauro presided over the function. Asst Parish Priest Fr Ajith Menezes, Vice President of PPC Mr Joseph Nazareth and Secretary Mrs Maisie D’souza were present on the dais. Prayer song was sung by the LCS children. 
Lourdes girls high school children performed the welcome dance. 
Konkani Skit ‘badlavan’was performed by the children.
Raymond Pinto of X Std welcomed all those who were present. Experiences about the catechism classes was shared by Tania Pinto of X std.
Children who secured I and II place in the catechism examination were given prizes by Fr Cyprian and Mr Joseph Nazareth respectively. Those children who attended catechism class with 100 percent attendance were given prizes by Mrs Maizie D’Souza. In his address Fr Cyprian advised the children to imbibe human qualities after the person of Jesus whom they studied in their catechism classes. All the teachers who taught the catechism during the year were honored during the program.
After the progamme all the children were given ice cream. There was also orchestra played by the children of our parish.
Fr J. P. Tauro, parish priest proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme was compered by Pearl D’Souza of IX Std.
The entire programe was coordinated by Mr Ivan Mascarenhas, Coordinator of Sunday Catechism with the guidance of assistant parish priests Frs Ajith and Steve.
It was a memorable day for the children of the Parish.
